Personal Application Questions
How is Your Heart?
Matthew 6:19-34
These questions are designed to help you understand how God’s Word applies to your life personally.
1. What was encouraging or challenging to you from this week’s teaching?
2. What do you learn about your heart from Proverbs 4:23?
3. As you consider what is flowing from your heart what does this reveal about your heart?
4. How have you seen Matthew 6:21 to be true in your own life?
5. Where would Jesus say your treasure (and therefore your heart) is? Why do you think He would say that?
6. Christians often say “I asked Jesus into my heart” as part of their salvation testimony. That is not a Biblical expression. What would be better language to express the necessary elements of saving faith?
7. How would you explain that salvation is a free gift but those who received it have yielded ownership of their lives to God? (That can seem to be contradictng)
