Available Programs for Women

Available programs for women are catorgorized by the following:

Equipping / Discipleship:

Women's Bible Studies

Bible Studies are offered Wednesday mornings and evenings. These studies are designed to establish, a firm Scriptural foundation for life; encourage a habit of consistent study and equip women to minister, develop friendships, share, encourage and practice what is being taught. An important part of this is small group interaction. Nursery is provided during both morning and evening studies. These are usually scheduled to correspond with other Wednesday activities at CFC. For more information, contact Cindy Harby or Leslie Jones.

Interesting in Helping? We need small group leaders...or just come and participate.

Scriptural Salve for Your Soul

God uses the difficulties of living in a sin-cursed world to conform us to the image of His Son. In this small group study of God's Word, you will learn how to be braided with God in the loving purposefulness of pain and hardship in your life. You will learn how to use the current or past trials of life to bring glory to God and, therefore, grow in peace, rest, hope and joy. Limited group sizes for this study. For more information, contact Beth Karadeema at 874-8234 or email her.

Apples of Gold

Do you ever feel like this:

  • Sometimes I need support.
  • Sometimes I wish I could ask someone who is experienced.
  • Sometimes I need to know how to teach my children.
  • Sometimes I don't know how to best love my husband.
  • Sometimes I wish I could cook and entertain better.

If so, check out "Apples of Gold." An 8-week program offered throughout the year, "Apples of Gold" is based on Titus 2:3-5 and is designed for mature women to mentor younger women through topical Bible studies, cooking demonstrations, and sharing meals. Our desire is to encourage each and every one to be the women God has called you to be. For more information, contact Teresa Murray at 940-7997.

Common Thread

Common Thread is a new support ministry for women who have experienced infertility in the past or are in the midst of it now. It's a place where women can connect, come under mentorship, and receive encouragement and prayer from other women. Women often feel very lonely in this private journey, but we weren't meant to walk this narrow road alone. We believe that hearts will be uplifted and enouraged simply by knowing other women in our body who have faced the same challenges. For more information please contact Sharlie Harby.

Life-on-Life Discipleship Groups

Life-on-Life Discipleship involves maturing believers investing in multiplying maturing believers. These small groups of  women or men meet for a two-and-a-half-year, five-part study, designed around the concepts of honest and authentic relationships, accountability, centrality of the Word, and multiplication. Small groups meet weekly, at various times, either morning or evening. Groups begin in September or in January.

Women who are interested in learning more about times and locations for women's groups, contact Cindy Harby or Leslie Jones at 262-3000.

Prayer Committee

"Devote yourselves to prayer." - Colossians 4:2

Women whose hearts the Lord is touching are encouraged to become a part of our prayer ministry. How can you be involved? For more information, contact Margaret Davis.

Interested in helping? Our present strategy is to have a number of prayer partners or small prayer groups who will "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for all saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

Outreach:

MEMS (Moms Encouraging Moms)

MEMS was founded on the belief in God's love for mothers of preschoolers, a love that fully affirms the identity and value of each mother. Mommy time! "We learn about why our "job" is so important and get to laugh with other moms who change as many diapers as we do." The program provides opportunities for friendship, creative outlets, Godly mentors, an optional monthly Bible study, and spiritual emphasis as well as a program for children. MEMS meets monthly on the 2nd, 3rd and 5th Wednesday, September - May. For more information, contact Tricia Murphy.

Interested in helping? Volunteer to be a small group leader, serve on the steering committee, or be a children's leader or helper.

The CFC Women's Retreat is a yearly spring event to encourage women to set aside a time for spiritual refreshment and renewal. Holiday Outreach Event

This year, our Holiday Hoedown Happening is intended to include your spouses, as well as your friends and neighbors. This western-theme event will include line dancing and square dancing with a professional caller, music, and casual eats. For more information, contact Cindy Harby.

20-Somethings

This group of young women (single and married) meet quarterly in a fun time of learning, sharing and activity with "older women" in the church. The concept is based on a modern-day version of the Proverbs 31 woman and how God designed us to live in His service and for His purpose. For more information, contact Cindy Harby.
